Here are some folks faces who live in the "Area of Interest".  Check the "People" page for in-depth family stories

Tanky

Tanky  Doherty with Saddle Rock in the background.
Four generations of Doherty's have lived and worked the ranch.
Tanky's grandfather "Papa Joe" Doherty immigrated
from Ireland when he was 16 years old and homesteaded
the Colorado portion of the ranch in the 1920s.

If the expansion happens, the Doherty's stand to lose half of their land/ ranch and earning power,  therefore, part of the family would have to leave the ranch and find another job/occupation. They would lose several homes of  family members, the school for their kids and grandkids,  jobs in the community that their family have, the Churches where the families worship and one where Tanky's Grandson Brad pastors in Branson, Branson Community Church.

Tanky and Joan Doherty say that along with the familys' personal losses; "We would stand to lose some of the larger towns where we shop, bank, buy and sell cattle and do business. We would lose road access to the nearest town and would have to travel many many miles out of our way to see doctors/hospitals/any medical help in an emergency , buy food, get veterinary help and feed for our cattle, vote, etc.
We would also lose our Post Office. And we would lose friends we have worked with and raised families with for generations."
